Life Update: Summer in Vermont sped by quickly!
Once again, I had the joy of facilitating the Summit Yoga Series at Okemo Mountain, weaving Kundalini and Vinyasa styles together with my own blend of stretching, earth-loving, body-loving dharma. There’s something pretty magical about practicing yoga on a mountain, surrounded by all that Vermont beauty.
And somewhere along the way this summer, I’ve had a few important realizations.
First: It’s my responsibility—and, I think, part of my purpose—to create opportunities for people to come together and have transformational experiences.
I’ve always felt the desire for more opportunities to gather, connect, move, learn, laugh, and experience something meaningful together. So I’ve decided that if I want those experiences to exist, I’m going to create them. Speaking of which… I’ve got a bunch of wonderful things in the works that I’m really looking forward to this fall:
A 30-Day Dietary Reset
A 3-Day Yoga Retreat
A 6-Week Ski Prep Program focused on mobility, strength, and agility to get you ready for the slopes.
More details coming soon!
My second realization has been trickling in, somewhere on the other side of all these eclipses and this cosmic lunar business. I needed to cut the cord from the old version of Marion who was cowering and waiting for someone to rescue her. I need to say F-it. I am the Alpha Energy of my own life.
And let me tell you, I can name about a million ways I have not been embodying that energy—with George, with my kids, with my business, with my self-care… and, honestly, with myself. Even after all the reparenting and inner work I’ve done, I realized I was still quietly hoping that someone else would take over. That someone else would rescue me, take charge, and make the decisions. And then it hit me: No one else is coming.
And that’s not sad. That’s liberating!! Because no one else can do this for me for me!
I’m finally understanding what Alpha Energy means for me. Is not being the loudest person in the room, pushing people around, or proving that I’m in charge. It’s quiet strength. It’s setting a boundary and holding it instead of softening it because I’m worried someone might be upset. It’s standing in my decisions without needing to explain it. It’s taking up space and trusting myself enough to say: I know who I am. I know what I want. I know what is right for me.
I’ve always been pretty comfortable being my weird little self, and I don’t spend much time worrying about what other people think. But there’s a difference between not caring what people think and fully standing in your own power. I’ve been grounded and self-sure for a long time. Now I want to be embodied. I want that steadiness to show up in the way I speak, the choices I make, the boundaries I hold, and the space I take up. Not because I need to prove anything. Because I trust myself. And when I know something is right? I don't need anyone else to validate it. That, to me, is Alpha Energy.
And I’ve been practicing. With my personal training clients. With coaching my girls’ soccer team. In my business. In my relationships. In all those little moments where I have a choice between abandoning myself to keep the peace—or standing firmly in what I know to be true.
It’s all leading me toward this new Marion. And honestly? I’m really excited to see who she becomes. Because, like all things worth becoming, I need practice. I’m going to screw it up. I’m going to fall back into old patterns. I’m going to set a boundary and immediately wonder if I was too much. And then I’ll practice again.
Because maybe becoming the person we’re meant to be isn’t about suddenly arriving as some perfectly confident, fully embodied version of ourselves.
Maybe it’s about practicing the trust. Practicing standing firmly in the knowing that says: Yes. This is right. And trusting yourself enough to believe it.
GFT Body: It’s All in the Hips!
Your hips were designed to move in more ways than just forward and backward—but most of us spend our days sitting, squatting, lunging, and moving in the same limited patterns.
And here’s the surprising part: how you bend over can make a big difference in how your body feels.
Your hip hinge is one of the most important movement patterns you use every day, from picking up groceries and gardening to shoveling snow and getting up off the floor. But are your hips actually doing the work… or is your lower back picking up the slack?
In this week’s blog, I’m breaking down the hip hinge, why your hips need more movement variety, and how improving this simple pattern can help you build strength, mobility, and confidence in everyday life.

GFT Mind: What If Clarity Isn’t Something We Find—but Something We Create?
“If our love’s insanity, why are you my clarity?”
That lyric from Zedd’s Claritygot me thinking: what if clarity isn’t about having all the answers? What if it’s about getting quiet enough to hear what you already know?
Our minds are constantly filled with noise—opinions, expectations, to-do lists, fears, and stories about what should be happening. No wonder it can be hard to hear ourselves.
So what would become clear if you stopped trying so hard to figure everything out?
GFT Spirit: What if you could let go without knowing what's coming next?
I've been thinking a lot about faith lately—and how closely it seems to be connected to surrender.
After this recent Pisces eclipse, the invitation to release, soften, and stop gripping so tightly has felt especially strong.
But here's what I've realized:
Letting go doesn't mean giving up. It means trusting.
Trusting that you don't need all the answers. Trusting that an ending isn't necessarily the end. Trusting that you can be uncertain and still be safe, loved, and guided.
Maybe letting go isn't the opposite of faith.
Maybe letting go is faith.
Nutrition Corner: Ready for a Reset?
Sometimes you don’t need another diet, another list of foods you can’t eat, or another set of rules to follow.
You just need to get back to the basics.
Real food. Enough nourishment. Adequate protein. More plants. Ample water. Freedom in movement. Better sleep. And a little more intention around how you’re caring for yourself.
That’s the heart behind my 30-Day Reset.
I created this program to help you step out of the cycle of “I’ll start Monday” and spend 30 days creating simple, sustainable habits that actually support the way you want to feel.
This isn’t about restriction or perfection. It’s about nourishing your body, simplifying your choices, and giving yourself a chance to reset your routines—mind, body, and spirit.
If you’ve been feeling a little stuck, sluggish, out of rhythm, or simply ready to take better care of yourself, this might be exactly what you need.
