What to Expect
Trying something new can feel exciting...and maybe a little intimidating.
If you've signed up for one of my classes or private sessions, first of all—welcome! I'm so glad you're here.
Whether this is your first fitness class in years, your first yoga experience, or you've been moving your body for decades, you've already taken the hardest step: showing up.
The rest? We'll discover together.
Come As You Are
You don't need to be flexible.
You don't need to be strong.
You don't need to know what you're doing.
You simply need to arrive with a willingness to explore.
Every body is different, and every day our bodies tell a different story. My goal isn't to make everyone move the same—it's to help you learn how your body wants to move.
I'll offer guidance, encouragement, and modifications whenever they're helpful, but you are always your own best teacher. I encourage you to listen to your body, honor what it communicates, and move in ways that feel supportive rather than forced.
This is a judgment-free space where curiosity is more important than perfection.
What to Bring
A few simple things can make your experience even more enjoyable:
A yoga mat (if your class uses one)
A water bottle
Comfortable clothing you can move freely in
Layers if you tend to get warm or chilly
A small journal or notebook if you'd like to capture thoughts, ideas, or moments of inspiration after class
An open heart and an open mind
And yes...makeup is completely optional.
What You Can Expect
Every class is a little different because every group is different.
Some days you'll laugh.
Some days you'll sweat.
Some days you'll discover muscles you forgot existed.
Some days you'll leave feeling lighter than when you arrived.
There may be moments that challenge you physically, mentally, or emotionally—and that's often where growth begins.
Think of each class as stepping onto a new trail. You don't always know exactly where it's going, but if you're willing to stay present, you'll almost always leave with something valuable.
More Than Exercise
Yes, we'll build strength.
Yes, we'll improve mobility, balance, flexibility, and endurance.
But we'll also practice listening—to our breath, our bodies, and ourselves.
Movement has an incredible way of quieting the outside world so we can hear what we've been needing all along.
Sometimes that's confidence.
Sometimes it's peace.
Sometimes it's simply permission to slow down.
You're Not Alone
One of my favorite parts of teaching is watching strangers become friends.
Maybe you'll meet someone who shares your interests.
Maybe you'll encourage someone who's just as nervous as you are.
Maybe you'll simply enjoy being surrounded by people who are cheering for one another instead of competing.
Whether you come alone or bring a friend, you're becoming part of a community that believes everyone belongs.
Every Body Is Welcome
No matter your:
Age
Fitness level
Flexibility
Mobility
Body size
Gender
Experience
...there is a place for you here.
You never have to "get in shape" before coming to class.
You don't have to earn your seat on the mat or your place in the room.
You simply have to show up.
We'll take it one breath, one movement, and one step at a time.
